We worked with Modern Designers and Manchester Museum to create an interactive table where visitors were able to trigger a selection of six films by placing physical character cards onto the table.
Visitors to the exhibition could find out about the experiences and legacies of the creation of India and Pakistan in 1947, through the memories of members of Manchester’s South Asian communities.
The partition of India led to the largest mass migration in human history, with an estimated 15 million people being displaced. The world- changing impact of Partition remains relatively unexplored by museums across the UK. Memories of Partition addressed this by revealing the untold stories of Partition on local communities, multiculturalism and migration.
